We extended this 1970s terraced house to the rear at ground floor level and refurbished the internal spaces throughout. The rear garden is lower than the original internal ground floor, so the new open-plan sitting area was created as a split-level room. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors open onto a new eastward facing rear terrace.
On the first floor, the master bedroom was augmented with a dressing room and shower room by removing the existing small bedroom. The stairway to the first-floor level was improved with a rooflight over the stairwell which extended upwards through the loft space letting in more light.

“Architecture is the stage on which we live our lives.”
– Mariam Kamara
Keith gave us excellent guidance right through the period, from the early design stage, to submitting plans to the council, selecting a contractor, inspecting the works during construction, and proposing a number of sensible suggestions and solutions whenever we came up against any issues.
