RIBA Project Management stages 0-7

Malone Architecture follow the RIBA Plan of Work as best practice for project management. It outlines eight stages in the planning, design and building process, from conception to completion on site.

Confirming Client Requirements
Develop Business Case for feasible options including review of Project Risks and Project Budget

Step-1-RIBA

Preparation & Briefing

Project Brief approved by the client and confirmed that it can be accommodated on the site.
Undertake Feasibility Studies Agree Project Budget.
Source pre-application Planning Advice.

Step-2-RIBA

Concept Design

Architectural Concept approved by the client and aligned to the Project Brief.
Obtain pre-application Planning Advice

Step-3-RIBA

Spatial Coordination

Architectural and engineering information Spatially Coordinated
Prepare and submit Planning Application
Coordinated design aligned to updated Cost Plan, Project Strategies and Outline Specification

Step-4-RIBA

Technical Design

All design information required to manufacture and construct the project completed.
Develop architectural and engineering technical design

5

Step-5-RIBA

Manufacturing & Construction

Manufacturing, construction and Commissioning completed.
Finalise Site Logistics
Monitor progress against Construction Programme

6

Step-6-RIBA

Handover

Building handed over, Aftercare initiated and Building Contract concluded.
Hand over building in line with Plan for Use Strategy.

7

Step-7-RIBA

Use

Building used, operated and maintained efficiently.
